This week was my first time doing my little art handling gig at KMAC ! I was able to work one Tuesday helping with the deinstallation of the triennial show. My first task was to assist in packing up this Ebony G Patterson Piece. We wrapped all the paper-mache balloons, removed the toy cars and packaged them away. The most fun part for me was bubble wrapping all of the glass shoes. I weirdly enjoy packing things, I think after moving so many times with a bunch of fragile ceramics its simply within my nature to bubble wrap something to perfection. The other pieces that I helped to deinstall was this huge series of works by Bruce Lin. I certainly got the hang of packing up paintings having to do 9 in a row. I learned to wrap the paintings in plastic before they are placed in the cardboard boxes.
